Raleigh, NC- North Carolina State Auditor, Beth Wood, has endorsed State Senator, Terry Van Duyn (D-Buncombe), in her bid to become North Carolina’s next Lieutenant Governor. Since her election in 2008, Auditor Wood has won statewide election three times, receiving over 7.4 million votes.
In a statement released to the media, Auditor Wood affirmed, “As your State Auditor I run a nonpartisan shop and because of that I seldom endorse candidates in an election. However, in the campaign for Lieutenant Governor I am endorsing Terry Van Duyn. I have seen first hand what an effective Senator she has been and because of that I proudly step out and publicly endorse her in her campaign to be our next Lieutenant Governor. North Carolinians need effective leaders to move North Carolina forward.” Auditor Wood continued, “Terry’s ability to lead has been proven time and time again in the State Senate. She has shown that she can work across the aisle and advance North Carolina forward. I know she will serve honorably and I would encourage all North Carolinians to consider lending their vote to her.”
Senator Van Duyn is currently serving in her third term as a state senator from Buncombe County and served as the Democratic Whip for four years, before announcing her run for Lieutenant Governor.
